Short version
No accounts, no advertising, no tracking across sites, and no selling of data to anyone. Downloaded files are deleted from the server within minutes.
What the website collects
- The URL you submit. Stored so we can show which videos are downloaded most often on our public statistics page.
- Country and city. Derived from your IP address at the moment of the request. The IP address itself is not stored.
- Page views. Which page was viewed and when. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site identifiers.
- Outcome of each download. Success or failure, the chosen quality, file size, and the error reason if it failed.
Your IP address is held in memory only long enough to apply rate limits and to look up a country. It is never written to disk.
What the browser extension collects
- The URL of the page you press download on. Sent to our server only at the moment you click, so the video can be fetched.
- Your last chosen quality, stored locally in your browser so it is remembered next time. It never leaves your device.
The extension does not read your browsing history, does not run on any site other than the six it supports, and contains no analytics or advertising code.
Why each permission is needed
- downloads — to save the finished file to your computer.
- activeTab — to read the address of the tab you are on when you click download.
- storage — to remember your quality preference locally.
- contextMenus — to add the right-click menu item.
- notifications — to tell you when a download finishes or fails.
- Host access to the six supported sites — to place the download button on those pages only.
Files you download
Video and audio files are written to temporary storage on the server, served to you, then deleted. A sweeper removes anything left behind every five minutes. Nothing is archived and no copies are kept.
Third parties
Requests to some platforms are routed through a proxy provider so they are not blocked. That provider sees the request but not who made it. Country lookups use ipinfo.io. There are no advertising networks, no analytics services, and no data brokers involved.
Your rights
Because there are no accounts, there is nothing tied to your identity to delete. If you want a submitted URL removed from the public statistics page, email the address below and it will be deleted.
